I have discovered one cause of the kernel panic during boot that affects
this laptop with linux-image-3.13.0-61-generic and linux-
image-3.13.0-58-generic. Within the UEFI BIOS settings is an option
called Battery Charge Configuration. Both kernels boot without issue

it is hard to track it. It is not added because of legal reasons.

The fix released is for the development branch (Wily/15.10) which is
using kernel 4.1 currently. Not sure how launchpad decides what use as
summary for the link. The fix looks to be backportable. Might just be a
few iterations to go through the process. Right now I would prepare a
replacement 3.19

sudo apt-get install python-scipy
It said I need to do apt-get -f install so I did so as SU. Then it produced

fails in some way and when I do a restart, I am unable to use any kind

Just out of curiosity, if I sleep in between starting the virtual
machine AND adding the disks (sleep 10, for example)... Then the disk
attachment works almost 100% of the times:

Second reproducer for this bug (shell script attaching ceph volumes on kvm
machine).
Make sure to run this as 1st level guest (2nd level is slow and don't trigger
the issue).

Okay, following instructions already provided by Chris Arges -
responsible for the kernel bisection so far - and Ed - working on the
case since its beginning - I was able to create another reproducer - not
openstack dependant - that fails close to 100% of times.
Output:

I have a Asus Z87-Pro and suffered from this problem. After going into
the UEFI setup screen and changing the four Asmedia 1074 ports to
disabled the system now boots fine.
In the settings screen, they are under Advanced - USB, and named as
USB_ xxE with the suffix E.
