Still testing 4.7.0-994-generic. It again isn't freezing. Perhaps the
time it froze was not because of the main issue. Hard to say, very
confusing. If nothing else i believe it is more stable, but it still has
sporadic freezing problems of some sort.

But when started to try the upstream kernels it was uninstalled. In the
recent test with 4.7.2 kernel the driver is no longer installed.

I tried like I said with the ubuntu 15.10 amd64 iso , the results of the tests
are almost the same of installed 16.04 :
while installed 16.04 goes static once , then after some seconds it blanks the
screen and returns the static effect (then no moves from then)
the live 15.10
Never mind. I guess i spoke too soon. Perhaps i just got lucky. But
4.7.0-994-generic does seem to have the bug. I guess going back to the
original commit bisecting is the best option.

yet but on an install of the new linux mint 18 Beta I have upped from
