about the fan being off if the temperature was in that range.
If an operating system doesn't support fan control then the fan will

Unfortunately, I haven't got a storage device large enough, to contain
all of the data from the pool, and much of it cannot be recreated, or
restored, from another source, so I won't be able to nuke the pool, and
rebuild it.

Did you destroy and recreate the pool after disabling dedup? Otherwise
you still have the same dedup table and haven’t really accomplished
much.

I reproduce the bug with the 5.4.0-49-generic kernel from `proposed`
when running the Radeon X1950 PRO.
Note: I previously joined a dmesg log file about GPU lockup, such lockup
is not always logged but the GNOME Shell session is stuck anytime it is
started.
