*JOB DESCRIPTION:* The duties include, but are not limited to performing standard software development tasks associated with the design and development of a new application.
A. Requirements gathering, analysis, design, prototyping, coding, testing, training and documentation. B. Review when needed, business and system use cases and requirements documentation to gain over all understanding of the functionality to be developed. C. Provide technical knowledge and expertise on all Ed. Cert. development and maintenance efforts. D. Mentor Ed. Cert. technical team on Ed. Cert capabilities by helping them learn and solve technical issues. E. May work in the role of a technical team lead or assist the Ed. Cert technical team lead in the assignment of programming tasks to other team members. F. Follow and comply with TEAs processes, procedures, and guidelines for all development work and participate in technical reviews of all components developed. G. Perform programming tasks using JSF, JSP, Java, WebSphere Integration Developer, Rational Application Developer, and Eclipse. H. Communicate with project manager, Ed. Cert. technical team lead, team members and customer about change requests and to understand their needs. I. Utilize the Agency’s change management system and version management systems. (PVCS Tracker and Version Manager). J. Document all technical work as requested. K. Keep Agency supervisor and management informed on issues and the status of work planned and complemented by submitting weekly status reports. L. Interface as appropriate in carrying out application design and development responsibilities with Agency data analyst, database administrators, network operations, security officer and other IT peers and management. M. Other duties as assigned. *WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS* * Minimum Requirements:* Years Skills/Experience 5 Java, JSP, and JSF development for developing web applications 5 Interfacing applications with Relational database (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) 4 Must have a strong analytical, problem-identification and process analysis skills with the ability to envision a solution from requirements. 2 Work experience in system testing which includes the development of test plans, test cases and conducting testing sessions. 2 Strong interviewing, facilitation, problem resolution, consensus building, and negotiating skills. 1 Experience with Websphere Integration Developer (WID) Strong Professional who works well independently or as part of a team.
