Our customer Develops state of the art Software for Set Top Boxes, Interactive Guides and Mobile Devices. We are looking for multiple Engineers who have worked in a traditional software development environment. The contract is a long term assignment with high probability for an extension beyond a year. *Senior SW Engineer* (El Segundo Office) Client is in search of a Senior Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering organization. Responsibilities include the specification, design, development, testing, documentation and implementation of near-realtime, embedded, software applications utilizing Java, C++, C, and POSIX. The software developer will be responsible for solving intriguing problems with our latest embedded technology, and partner with other team members, customers, and vendors throughout the entire project lifecycle. The engineer will also be responsible for taking the lead on small individual projects. *Qualifications* · BS in Computer Science. MS in Computer Science is desired. · Five or more years of experience developing 2D & 3D graphics application using OpenGL. · Five or more years of experience developing multithreaded and distributed application software systems. · Five or more years of experience developing software applications with Java, C++, C, and/or POSIX in a Unix/Linux environment. · Five or more years of experience utilizing formal development methodologies. · Familiarity with embedded programming or working in a resource constrained system. · Familiarity with streaming technologies such as DLNA, HTTP, RTP. · Familiarity with set-top-box technologies such as RF, MPEG video compression, video/audio coding, ATSC, NTSC, satellite communications, TCP/IP networking, 1080p, and MoCA is highly desired. · Strong problem solving and analytical skills. · Excellent written/verbal communication skills. · Good analytical skills, detail oriented, quick study, and self-motivated. · Able to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. · Ability to multitask within an environment of rapidly changing priorities. · Proactively solve problems and be a team player. · Effective time management and communication skills a must. · Must be willing to work occasional extended hours. · Domestic and International travel may be required.
