I've fixed this typing: sudo cp /usr/share/services/xine_part.desktop /opt/kde3/share/services/ It seems that kaffeine can't find xine_part.desktop in the old kde3 place after upgrading to the new kdelibs4c2a which are compiled with /opt/kde3 as prefix. That worked for me, thanks. -- Kaffeine

I have a workaround for this bug, although I'm unsure if Ubuntu has the needed package for it since it came from the Arch Linux forums. Anyway, instead of telling the GTK-QT-Engine to use the same as KDE, download and install the Oxygen GTK theme and set it to that instead. It kills this problem
