OK kids. Here's a lesson for you. Don't mix Mapper and Record in the
same file! Cause if you do, you might do something like this:
class MCheckin extends MongoRecord[MCheckin] with MongoId[MCheckin]
with LifecycleCallbacks {
}
and wonder why the #$%^*( the callbacks aren't being called. But

are you trying to use?

Do we have to move the common pieces of Mapper and Record into a common
package?
We don't have to as I have just changed my code to do with
net.lifetweb.record.LifecycleCallbacks and everything is now works
fine. It might be worth considering though so no one else has the
same problem I did.

At some point I would love to. I'm not sure it's quite ready for that
yet though.
As soon as I finish the project I'm working on, I hope to be able to
spend some more time on it. There are still some things that I haven't
implemented and I want to look closer at the code you wrote for
couch-db
