When driving it is impossible to read the sandwich boards!

There is a sign in the center of town, but not everyone passes through the
center of town regularly
Good point — especially important when/if the whole town needs to be alerted …
usually it is a call from police.

Hi there,
I work at Oriole Landing and was unaware of the water ban. They will be
turned off today.

Hi. Not any change in water use, just this most serious condition. Its not
a "normal" drought condition.
People can take responsibilty of finding out a loosening of conditions or
finding out less serious driughts by reading signs
This is a serious condition for our environment and we need to
Regarding using reverse 911, I would rather not risk crying wolf too often
for what I would call a serious situation and not a public emergency. If
used every time the drought conditions changed, people might stop checking
their voice messages.
For examples of more relevant reasons to use reverse
Dear Steve,
I think this drought is an emergency which requires immediate attention!
Everyone in town needs to be alerted now!
Let’s use the reverse 911!

I don’t think that is enough. People who live in condos don’t get water
bills, since the bills are folded into their condo fees. Sandwich Boards
are hard to read.
I really think in this case a reverse 911 call is the way to go! After all
we are looking at a result of Global Warming ! Let’s
At the emergency meeting this past Friday, the Water Commissioners and
attendees discussed a reverse 911 to inform Lincoln residents about the
drought situation. It was decided that this mode of communication should be
reserved for emergencies requiring immediate action (water main breaks
etc.).
Good point. Is there an official version of the story?
I did water my new plantings through a can yesterday.
I request some explicit official instructions from the Town Office.

Yes! I live at Oriole Landing, and they don’t know about it. I was thinking the
same thing. How would you know if you’re not on Lincoln Talk? All of the people
taking 5 minute showers while others are watering their lawns still. Thanks for
bringing it up.

I have been following Lincoln Talk about the newest ban on watering due to
our severe drought. So I know what the rules are. However there are
people living in town who don’t subscribe to either the Squirrel or Lincoln
Talk.
Today I spoke to a neighbor who knew nothing about the watering ban.
