the original source and the patches. some release the patched code only,
and if it is not a patvh to a well-known code (like the linux kernel,
or something easely found and accessed through freshmeat) it's also
against the spirit of the GPL, that protects the license owner's IP.

apperently you don't know what reverse engineer means. do do it right
and legally is very hard. if you are the one doing the engineering, and
you hve the source, then you are rewriting and not reverse engineering,
and that;s again against the GPl's spirit (and MAY even hold in a court)
