updated and does something different now.
I'd look through the scripts in /etc/X11/gdm, perhaps one of them is
causing those files to be removed on logout. PostSession/Default is the
first one I'd look at.

Hey guys, got a problem. I recently re-built a server for a client, and
in the process upgraded from Slackware 10 to Slackware 11, and from LTSP
4.1 to LTSP 4.2. Everything has worked great, except for I'm having a
little bit
that LTSP-5 doesn't use the IP address in the
root-path is a bug, and it's being fixed. LTSP-4.2 could also figure
out the IP address automatically, but the sample file included it, so
everyone used it.
Anyway, to fix your problem, remove the ip address and the ':' from the
root-path.

very important. Looking at what you pasted, it looks like you were
running this as a normal user.

Verner,
It sounds like your 'DISPLAY' environment variable isn't set.
Open an xterm, and type: echo $DISPLAY
Let us know what it says.

Hi list,
I'm struggling with LDA in SuSE10/LTSP4.2
When manually invoking /etc/X11/xinit
is the name of your kernel module without the .ko
Take a look at the KernelOptions wiki page for information about passing
that argument to the kernel.

Well let me be more clear
Dan,
Have you tried logging that person in on the server console?
It would be good to eliminate the possibility of LTSP and SSH causing the
problem.

We have a new install of Feisty on a test server
James,
I'd love to test it, but I'm still in Spain until Sunday. After that,
i'll be swamped with work, trying to catch up from 13 days of travel.
So, don't count on me to do any testing for at least a week or two.
Hopefully someone else can step up and give it a shot before then.
