I should clarify that most jobs run just fine, automatically handled by
MediaWiki with $wgJobRunRate set to 0.1 or 0.5 depending on the wiki. It's
just the occasional job that gets stuck that I have to clear by hand (which

runJobs.php works more reliably. The changes made a few versions ago
steered me toward this method. It might be worth looking into. Especially
if you have a lower trafficked wiki.
