To clarify, a parallel flow condenser allows you to use R134a and get
comparable performance with the prior R12 system.

You have two choices:
1.) Find a shop that will do R12; or,
2.) Replace your current condenser with a parallel flow condenser. There is a
company that makes them for W123 and W126 chassis cars. I put one in my 350SDL

The purists will tell you that you should look for R12.
The real question is what else should you do apart from adding freon to
try to ensure that you are not wasting your money on something that will

Actually I think what I used was the "pro" version which is a chlorinated

I skimmed over the ad copy -- yeah a flat head Ford V8 will have all kinds of

I'd probably also convert the electrical system to 12V and put in an

radios, improved lights,

that is true, it should be OK.

Makita and others apparently make a metal cutting skill saw (slower, higher

For stuff that's hidden, like the underside of the car, I really like computer

My '98 Jetta TDI had a lot of computer case welded into it's floors.
For the upper parts that might show it *might* be worth saving
No plasma cutter, recip saw and angle grinder/cutoff tool. Benz steel is
surprisingly soft and easy to cut from previous experience on 124 and 126
hulks. Maybe that’s all cars, has to do with crash energy absorption and
deformation?
