I won the auction which some might wonder how since they were not sold to the
USA.
I’ve been talking to a guy from the Ukraine and he sent me a link. I decided I
wanted them, but seller would not ship out of the country.
I’m in a Bitcoin forum/chat rooms and someone I’ve dealt with for a while
I won't be trying that test :)Sent from my iPhoneOn Apr 28, 2024, at 19:06, liam bartosiewicz wrote:That’s super cool! I wonder if it’s better at resisting burn in than the normal green phosphor. On Apr 28, 2024, at 5:49 PM, Pramanicin wrote:Bit speechless didn't know I had this,

BTW, just so that credit is where credit is dueCarl did a large chunk
of the work on the KIT assembly notes and the Lumina Manual is Terri's
handiwork from the Lumina release. Thanks again!

I've tried depoisoning a few of these 6844/5031 tubes with zero success,
even at high current (20+ mA). They get hot, but wont clean-up. Whatever
contaminates the surface of the cathode is rather stubborn. Perhaps it's an
oxide; many of these failing tubes have a black haze inside the tube,
I've given up thinking what a good price is now that looks like about
$200 each when taking tax/currency conversion into account.
They are very nice tubes when lit up. They've gone to a good home
(presumably Michail from his smiley face reply... ;)

Well the facts are that the National NL-6844A tubes always test much better
than the Burroughs versions do.
I know they are not ideal tubes. No mercury. Limited lifetime. But they do
look cool especially on a clock
that has them poking out the front.
