I am a poor PhD student trying to download Mandrake 7.1. I am using
windows
2000 an IE5.5 and am having difficulties with the ftp server resetting
the
connection (5 minutes seems to be about the maximum I can hope for)
and
downloading the link

I didn't have the same experience, but i thought It was very slow. It also limits the
number of packages you can install. I believe it has a 1GB limit. Better off Dual
booting.

I have a similar problem...I have a MV Pas16 sound card
which works fine under windows98 and with the COL2.3 Linux.
With Mandrake 7.1 I get output from the Line Out of the card
but it is at a low level. I cannot seem to get kmix to
control the volume. (kmix is the program you get when

problems are being experienced on dual boot systems. I have 7.1 on
a stand alone AMD K-6 400 Soyo Mother board and except for lack of
