I have a Compaq 1800T laptop. 1400/1050 screen with a ATI Mobility AGP(2) 16MB graphics card. First time I installed LM8 the graphics worked at 1400!!! It was beautiful.. However, hitting ctrl-alt-F1 to go to console produced LCD frying, i.e. nothing visible. Reinstalled, worked again!
