the /etc/lilo.conf file controls where lilo gets installed
(the below example shows lilo installed on the mbr):

version from a Mandrake crypto mirror site. The few times I've
had problems, I've renamed the ~/.netscape directory and then
launched netscape and let it recreate that directory and all the
files in it. I still had the files in the
Bobthen that's been the real problem all along.
Is there any file resembling /boot/us.klt? You might find a
usuable one on your boot floppy and copy it to the /boot/
dirctory. Change the entry in /etc/lilo.conf to match a
different name or if you can'find it at all then remove the line
Bobnope, /etc/lilo.conf is telling lilo that certain files
are in a certain place and if they are not there then a
successful bootup will not occur. See my last message for some
solutions.

the m command (help) will tell you the same thing as well as all
the other available commands. Don't worry about executing fdisk
because it doesn't change anything till
Mungalformat it as a linux native primary partition. You
would need to copy the /boot directory and add a new entry to
your /etc/fstab file. You'd need to create a /etc/lilo.conf
file (and delete the contents of your current /boot dierctory)

shift between booting win98 and linux as my modem doesn't seem to like

the hard drve, but will boot from the floppy is as follows. The
linux kernal must reside on a partition that ends before the
1024th cylinder of the drive it's located on. The boot floppy
has the kernel on it, so it boots your

CivilemeI thought that there was a problem when the mount
point contained uppercase characters? At least this is what I
remember when we were discussing the prevention of lockups when
accessing vfat partitions a couple of months ago.

drive needs to be disabled to allow Linux to boot then I suspect
that you probably installed Linux with the primary drive
disabled as well, right? If that's so, then it'll probably be
easier to reinstall Linux under normal conditions
