I have placed a script in /.kde/Autostart to be run at start-up for a
specific user. Is there some way of having the same script to be run at
the start-up for that specific user, independently of the chosen desktop
environment?

XFce4 and others I think look in
BTW I have the exact same problem...error on a Trident video card...strange

I just spent the last five hours trying to get X Window installed. Now,
during the installation, it says that it is working correctly and will run X
upon reboot. All well and good, however, when it reboots it enters Run

Exactly, COM3 is what I got with the 220 on Win 98, couldn't change it
so back to the Diamond shop it want. I wish it had worked, I sure hope
you get it working ! If you have a PnP modem, can you disable PnP ? Use
JP to configure COM2.
