yes. I have had that msg before - but only when I have tried to install from
a CDROM. Not sure why it does that. The way I solve it is 1) reboot, 2) boot
into a different o/s like Win, 3) reboot again, 4) get your installation
cdrom in again. Poof! the error kernel panic errors goes away.

Try changing the CD Rom drive...some of the BTC/Ciciero(sp)/... CR@P,low cost
CD's can/will make the system hand. Install a name brand
Toshiba/Pioneer/HP/... CD and I bet the problem goes away.
