Bootmagic is a part of the Partition Magic package.
And it is very commerial. But worth the money.

Life is more than increasing its speed.
After installing LILO in my MBR I was wondering if there is
any way you can move it from there to the start of the linux
partition. I have some boot manager software I would like to use
but can't while LILO is sitting in the MBR.

You can run fdisk /mbr that will take Lilo out , then install your boot

Wayneyes you're correct, you need lilo installed in the
booting partition's boot record when you use another boot
manager in the mbr.

I have some facts which might interest you all...
1) In comming M 7.1 version, LILO is NOT a default bootloader anymore!
This role has been taken by "GRUB", mainly because it has a better user
interface.
2) LILO still gets configured, so if you choose GRUB on install and do not
like
I use a GUI boot manager called XOSL that works great! Lots of boot
options and
it has a Windows 95 look and feel. Just make sure to put LILO on your
Linux boot partition as it doesn't yet support direct booting of Linux.
And before installing any boot manager, always backup your MBR 1st!

Since you can use this trick with multiple partitions... well, you get the
