Subject: Win < - > LiNuX Network? OK, Now That I've fixed some of my other
problems on my own, i want to start the huge task of enabling a local
network!
OK, before I re-installed Mandrake, my Windows
Machine found my Linux Machine, but now, it does not and when I run "samba
start". It starts fine, but when it type "samba stop" SMB says OK, and NMB
says "FAILED"!
However, when I acctaully got it working the last
time I had mandrake working, it asked for a password, but none of them
worked? is this something to do w/ encrypted passwords, if someone here
has acctually created a LAN w/ a Windows machine, could u please help me
configure my network? maybe, send me chunks of the samba.conf file, that
set config it; also, relating to the problem w/ the password login, is that
something to do w/ the samba users conf file?
2nd Q:
how do i access the my window's share via
linux? what is the name of the program I use to "browse" the
network? I have never tried accessing windows via linux!
