[newbie] Network Support?

Hey, Its me again, this time I have a question about Networking using SAMBA: My problem is that my other Windows 98 machine finds this machine, but when i try to connect to it, it says to enter a password, but when I try to set a password in Linux, it says that threre was an error about changing the file.  When I go into the configuration file, its near empty for both users.conf and passwords.conf.  I was wondering how I could make it so that I don't need to enter a password.    Thanks For You Continuing Support
