I have a very quick question I hope someone can help me on. I just resently came back
to linux-mandrake from another flavor. I had my cable modem working great on it and
it had two nic in it so I could ip chain to a samba network. The problem I am having
is that when I have both my nic

This sounds a lot like another problem (one that Bob was having until just a
few minutes ago) with a NIC and modem conflicting. It's a long shot, but
what worked in that case was this:
edit/etc/hosts and make sure there is nore entry for anything other
than the loopback address
