man, I'm having almost the same problem with my
Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 PCI
I can hear wav's (now, didn't before)
can play mp3s on xmms, can hear startup wav,
but as for midi's I get this window when I browse to
a site that has midi's playing:

but usually the
kernel is compiled with version information turned on. It
refers to the
modules being marked with what version of the kernel source they
were
