I found out when looking at the archive that this lens does exist. What
would be a good price for it second hand, if it is in a good shape?
Thanks again for the info.

Does anyone out there know what happened to Walter Pietsch's site?
I have been unable to raise it for some time (URL not found). It was
a site I used fairly often for Nikon information.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris,
I'm suffering from the same problem. I bought my F100 last January here in
Switzerland.

when zooming to 300mm. If I focus at 300mm (the subject is now sharp) and I

Anyway, I use an F5, and I was looking at a 600mm f/5.6 ED-IF AIS.
However, it suddenly occured to me that this lens does not have a CPU in

Correct. The F4 will give matrix metering with AIS lenses, not the F5.

Han,
The F-601 is "quicker to handle" if you need to make adjustments
since the user interface is more like the F90x than the F70. However,
the F70 has much faster, more versatile (cross-type and wide-area) and
quieter autofocus than the F-601. Wide area AF with Lock-On is useful
for tracking
