I also have a Beattie Screen for my F3. It is definitely much brighter than
the original screen from Nikon. It however is not suitable for use with
wide angle lens (anything less than 28 mm) as the corners will be darkened
substantially and focusing can become very difficult. I would suggest

What are the members opinions about primarily leaving an F5 set at the "Auto

The best lesson I learnt about F5-"P" mode is from Magic Lantern Guides -

Dear Digest members:
I want to run two (2) flash units off my FA, one on the hot shoe and one on
the end of the SC-18. Must I have an AS-10 to do this, or can I simply put
one unit on the FA and the other at the end of the cable?
In advance, thanks for everyon's help.

Actually, since the 500mm can't stop down, it doesn't
matter.
With the old prong-and-shoe meters, you do have to reset

Has anyone seen/used the new Sigma 800 5.6 HSM. I know its not Nikon equipment,

Any feedback or impressions?

Since I no longer have my own darkroom I have done little work with bw
film. Kodak is now promoting their Black White+ Select Series which
can be processed in C-41 and printed on color paper. So the question
is: What experience have you had and what is your opinion of the film?

My apologies for not having the name of the original "poster", but there is
a simple answer to your question: By far th brightest screen for the F3 is
the Nikon H2. While there are different H screens for different focal
lengths, I have used it for 28-85, 55, 105, and 35-135 with no problems.

Stop-down means the lens does not couple or "index" to the
camera's meter so the meter is unable to measure light with the

When I bought my 105 AF micro last year, I noticed a similar characteristic.
While I do not like it, it is quickly forgotten once you see the images this

As best I can tell, Kodak is making two different films: BW 400+ and
