The F100's program mode is just as useless. Too bad! The N90s/F90x has an
excellent program mode and also has a program mode you can program yourself
but it's cluttered with those useless picture programs. No happy medium
with Nikon.

expensive. My only complaint is those blasted Domke clasps that
are difficult (sometimes painful) to open and close. Does anyone like these
clasps? BTW my temporary solution to the clasp problem (until a better one
comes along) is to break off the tongue of the clasp and just hook it.

My F100's spot meter is right on the various AF points.
I do remember a similar post some time ago in reference to the F5's spot
meter misalignment with the AF sensor and it proved to be an isolated case.

I inquired to N90s Buddy 1.1 author Ken Hancock via email about a version
for the F100. Ken said he would not be coming out with an F100 version.
I guess we can hope Nikon will come out with another palm top application.

o me.
BTW I just received one of these lenses and it DID NOT come with a small
pink slip saying "At a telephoto setting, slight vignetting may occur when
shooting subjects with the macro switch set to MACRO (at a reproduction
ratio of approx 1:2), particularly when using a filter." I wonder why.
shouldn't we expect to pay
somewhere in the range of around $1,160 for this lens?
The best price I've seen mentioned on this Digest is in
$1,600 neighborhood. Ouch!

ith 2 or 3 Cotes. I really like this method
of
using the F-100. The AF-On button falls right under my right thumb
naturally the way I hold the camera. And you can do the same thing with
an F-5, though the AF-On button is kind of skimpy.

After a very careful reading of the F100s instruction manual, I believe the
following are either not adequately covered or are left out altogether, IMO.
LCD light - There is an easier way to turn off the F100s LCD light rather
than waiting for the delay timer to turn it off or shutting the
to focus manually with the
camera left in Single Servo AF, you would not be able to trip the shutter
unless the electronic range finder indicated in focus.
Don't forget to use the lens's focusing range limiter. It will keep this
lens from searching so much.

memory serves me right (and it usually doesn't), I set the film file names
to D9001, D9002, D9003, etc to represent the year and film number. I simply
change the name to 9901, 99002, 99003, etc. Of course this numbering system
limits me to only 99 rolls of film a year.

Kirk makes a 39mm drop-in polarizer that can be adjusted in place,
but I don't know who makes the glass for it.
I knew of this polarizer but I didn't mention it because it's US $300.00!

Here is a message I received from Henry Posner at BH Photo after I cc'd him
my direct responce to Tom Zeman's original BH complaint.
I, Art Searle wrote to Tom Zeman and cc'd BH:
Hi Tom,
I read you posting to the Nikon Digest user's group and I am quite
concerned. I have used BH for over
. I will definitely miss ADR on the F100
but I am hoping that it emulates the F90x/N90s and not the F5 display when
using the aperture ring on AF lenses.
