I'm trying to setup my UPS using the megatec driver, but for now without
success. from what I understood, the UPS should be connected to serial port
(despite being an USB UPS), so I did i.
sudo upsdrvctl start

What do you mean despite being an USB UPS?
I mean, it IS connected to computer's serial port.
I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 and the kernel version is 2.6.22-14-generic.
