I am thinking about packaging Nutch officially for Debian, so I was
reading over the Debian instructions on the Nutch Wiki. It looks like
Nutch really wants to be in the top level namespace, for example
various links will point to /search.jsp rather than something like
/nutch-0.6/search.jsp. This prevents Nutch from peacefully co-existing
with some other web application packages already in Debian.

Is there a best practice or recommendation for dealing with this
issue?  I think I'd like to see a compile time option to generate a
modified nutch.war that doesn't assume control of the top level
namespace. (i.e. links point to something like /nutch/search.jsp). But
I'm open to ideas.
