While out herping tonight in Sterling Forest S.P. area I heard and saw more than 13 Woodcocks.  I had at least seven at once at the parking area by the visitor center just before dark.  One or two flew right by me at eye level:-)  Very cool.  Love them. Andrew Andrew v. F. Block Consulting

In keeping w the spirit of cross posting. A Le Conte’s sparrow was found and photographed by K. Lamb on the main landfill this am. I believe last time one was seen there was approximately 3 months ago also on a foggy/misty morn. Hard to believe same bird made it unseen thru winter but who
