While out herping tonight in Sterling Forest S.P. area I heard and saw more
than 13 Woodcocks. I had at least seven at once at the parking area by the
visitor center just before dark. One or two flew right by me at eye level:-)

In keeping w the spirit of cross posting. A Le Conte’s sparrow was found and
photographed by K. Lamb on the main landfill this am. I believe last time one
was seen there was approximately 3 months ago also on a foggy/misty morn. Hard
to believe same bird made it unseen thru winter but who

I've been keeping an eye on Tupper Lake waiting for the Sandhill Cranes to
return. I observed 3 yesterday (March 30) way out in the huge marsh by the
bowling alley (a scope was needed), and I heard them trumpet! A resident in
Tupper Lake, Lyndon Johnson (famous name!), reported
