Not original, but a small carriage bolt, lock washer, and nut
would work. Carriage bolts
come in all shapes and sizes.
The older spotlghts had white handles on them m Unity stopped
production of them long ago but they still turn up in swap meets and
junkyards on a regular basis .
Unity still makes the early spot light for your truck if you want to
by it new (about $150.00 IIRC) and they still make the all
Yes ;
Any vehicle manufactured before year model 1967 is not required to
have seat belts per Federal law and your state or county CANNOT change

I have shipped vehicles with DAS although I dont know if they require running

Hi, on 6-1-06, I had my 1946 Plymoth Woodie

was the driver of Truck #5, an 5 car open hauler, who
placed my Woodie on top to keep people from getting

From about 1957 until 1980, I drove a wrecker, was a cop and drove an
ambulance at various times. It may sound like an old fart talking, but, in
the earlier years when seat belts and safety standards weren't there, we saw
some horrible injuries caused by mainly 2 things.
First, the
I drove out Ohio and hauled a truck back on an 18 foot flatbed trailer I bought
on the internet and had delivered in Columbus. I sold the trailer when I got
back to Denver. For the price, this sounds like a much better solution!

Hi Steve, I am now committed to wearing the seat

I contacted DAS and got a quote. I think their quote of $2,400 is a bit high.

I thought about that but, my truck max tow capacity is 12,000 on conventional
trailer, and 15,000 on a 5th wheel trailer. My truck I amd trying to get to
Colorado GVW is 16,000, as it reads on the cab.

The GVW of your old truck doesn't matter, weight that matters would be what
that truck and the trailer you haul it on weighs. I doubt the truck weighs
more than 6000, so a 4000 pound trailer should be big enough to carry it, and
still keep you under the max your truck is rated for.

Don't forget that GVW means the max weight that the truck can weigh
including cargo, people, fuel, etc. It has little to do with the curb weight
(actual) weight of the truck other than the fact that the extra equipment
necessary for a truck to carry a lot of cargo usually makes the truck weigh
I too encourage the installation and use of seatbelts.
I feel much better giving people who ride with me the security of this

Coolant is leaking completely from what seems to be the bottom of my
water pump. This occurs as soon as I add water to the radiator and it
fills. Haven't pulled it yet, and fortunately the failure occured as I
arrived home a few days ago, so if leaked all over the drive, but
didn't overheat.
