Ther is a place in Wichita, KS called Bowtie Bits at 3101 W. Harry which
specializes in old Chevy and GMC truck parts. The owner, a guy named Jeff, is
currently rebuilding all the old original instrument gauges for me for my '59
GMC truck. He wants $450 for the whole job. I haven't got them
I had mine redone by North Hollywood speedometer. www.nhspeddometer.com. I
don't remember how much but they did a super job.

Hey guys,
I have a 1948 1-1/2 ton Chevy with a Load King tilt bed. The controls for the
operation of the bed are two levers in front of the seat. Can anyone tell me
the exact procedure for proper operation of this setup? using the levers i.e.
which one does what function. The previous owner
Jeff is one of the best vendors out there! He has really done a lot to help us
out with these old trucks.

There's a lot needing doing; but the body is straight; except for the
dmall dent in front of the drivers door (before the fender). It has a
hydraulic full width lift gate added; which could be removed, for a
lower price on the truck.

One lever should engage and disengage the power takeoff on the side of the
transmission. You'll need to step on the clutch until the transmission stops
spinning, then engage the lever. The other lever should control the hydraulic
oil flow to the hoist cylinder, one way to raise it and

The high end place does mail order repairs and you will NOT be

Turns out that nowadays we are removing the 3 rivets that attach the front
bearing hubs to the brake drums, then purchasing Canadian made drums that
are pre-drilled so that they are interchangeable from front to back, and
attaching the original bearing hubs to the new style drums. Anyone know what
