This is not strictly origami, but I think it's close enough to fit in this

In the book The Langoliers by Stephen King there is a character that goes
crazy and when he is stressed he rips strips of paper. There are parts of
the book when the sound of riiip, riiip, riiip is repeated.

I was once taught that you can make a more precise crease if you fold
towards an edge than if you fold towards a crease, since with the edge you
can use not only your eyes but also your fingers to make a more accurate
fold, so I usually do it that way (folding to an edge).

work with long strips of ribbon tape but lately he's been working with the
