I completely agree that the defaults should the most sensible, but I disagree that removing configuration is a good thing. I like the only showing MB part, it's prettier than mixed units, but it also has issues when files are in the kb or middle to upper GB range. Sure, these days the biggest most

Seeing as my ideas and opinions on the topic of user interfaces were changed by Jan-Christoph over the summer during my project, I feel that I should step in. Not that Jan-Christoph needs any help, he convinced me on many UI decisions. I'll attempt to justify ownCloud's decisions as best as I can.
