Hi Utkarsh,
Seb has indicated that you may be able to help with an issue of trying to
create an interactive selection with labels (see below). I'm totally stuck.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

A follow up on this problem.
If anyone is interested, I think it is a bug with the rectilinear vtk
reader (or any derivatives).
I converted the same dataset to *.vtu format, and read the file series.
Did the same experiment with temporal filters and everything looked
perfectly fine. No error
This can be a little tricky one: let me try to come up with a Python
script that makes a selection and that should make things clearer.

A cylinder slice mode can certainly be added although I'm not sure we
have an interactive widget for that, I'll have to look. We can always
add one without an interactive widget. I've added a feature request
for the same: http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=13071

Dear ParaView users developers,
I am trying to reduce the time spent in performing generic 3D surface
rendering. A lot has been achieved by using ParaView driven by python scripting
already but actually I'd like to achieve more. At the time being, all rendering
is performed using CPU
Just out of curiosity, can you compile ParaView without MPI or use the
ParaView binaries from paraview.org? I am asking this because we have been
tracking down a nasty rendering performance issue that only shows up when
ParaView is linked against MPI.
