That should work. Is it possible that the physical space of the two geometries do not overlap? Go to the information panel and look at the Bounds for the scalar field and the surface geometry. The bounds should overlap. If they do not, then you can use the Transform filter to move/scale one or

(Responding back to the group.) Well, that's strange. That should work. I notice that you originally said your scalars are in a structured grid, but the top of your data file says it is an unstructured grid. An unstructured grid can represent anything, so is there a possibility it does not
