I'm very impressed by their offering this. I'll wait and see how well it
works for other people, and if I have the money, I'll consider it.

Good move by Ricoh. Hopefully Precision is up to the task.

Unfortunately not. The Western Cape is Mediterranean climate (winter rain)
so can't really expect rain before mid-April.

Huh?

Could be a good deal if the turnaround is quick. I could use my K3 in the
interim, but I wouldn’t want to be without the K1 for a month or more.

Wow. This kind of thing is *long* overdue. Kudos to Pentax for being
the first.

Get your present K1 upgraded to the K1II camera. I don't think I've ever
seen a manufacturer do this before.

The photographer's contract with the school photo company is almost
certainly "work for hire" with the photo company owning the copyrights.
That's why there are no examples of the photographer's school photo work
on his website.

Many thanks to all who replied to this thread.
Those replies gave me useful information as well as the spectrum of
opinions and views from other people (who know about photography).

That's an interesting story!
Thanks a lot for sharing, Bill!

Igor,
I am a survivor of the school photography grind as well as other strains

individual sets, but also tasked with group wrangling until I moved into

One of the first websites that Google returned was for the
