I don't think that's CA, I've got a 12mm Asuma, (1960's-1970's Sigma),
fisheye that has plenty of CA. What you're pointing to looks more like
digital bloom.

that motorized AF can focus
as close as 1 inch (2.5cm). Can anyone please confirm this from their
own experience. Such close macro would give dramatic perspective to a
macro closeups with fisheye zoom, but I'm not sure it'd focus this
close. Ideas appreciated

It will perform ok. You lose some of the dramatic wideness and the
lens is not overly sharp to begin with. I find that I almost always
use the DA 16-45 instead.
Here are a few shots from the fisheye zoom taken at wedding I did last

All were shot in available light
I've found it very useful on my * ist D, so I assume it would word as
well o the DS.

Keep in mind that there is a DA 10-20 fisheye forthcoming. It will do
for the APS-C sensor what the FA 17-28 did for 35 mm. I am awaiting it.
