I did that trip when I was 10 ;-) Canadian Pacific. One one short leg up in
the Rockies I got to sit in the cab. I’ll never forget the sight of deer
jumping along fresh snow in front of the train. Every so often the engineer
would reach into a large coolbox under his seat and pull out a can
Thanks for the link.
I will be trying the iPad + LR Mobile on this next trip, will run through a few
practice sessions beforehand to try to develop confidence in the workflow.
Back story: Over the last 10-20-30 years I have been able to do a lot of
travel. Until sorely after retirement in 2010

Then you can’t use LR CC, simple as that. You’ll need to find something else to
edit and render your photos on

When traveling, I'm using my iPads or iPhone. For the little I want to do in
rendering when traveling, I use Photos+RAW Power, Snapseed, or Affinity Photo.
Anything I do on the devices locally gets imported into LR Classic at
What I have run into is the following:
1. Load images from an SD card onto my iPad.
2. Open in LR Mobile, (with no internet, with synch paused).
3. Select/edit 3-4 images.
4. Attempt to export/share those images to another app. E.g. WordPress.
5. LR says “cannot complete. No internet connection.
I use subscription photoshop, ARC and bridge on my d sky op Mac and airbook. I
store all images on my hard drives rather than on Adibevservers, although the

I use a MacBook Pro, at home and when traveling. I use Lightroom Classic. I
seldom need or intentionally use Adobe’s cloud synch features.
On my upcoming trip I will try using LR Mobile on my iPad (and leave my laptop
home) and so there are some aspects of that app that will not work if it is

Works fine as long as your internet access while travelling is fast

external hard drives.
We’re going to be doing some traveling, and I’d like to have LR on my MacBook
Pro. There is loads of room on its internal drive.
What flavor of LR should I install on my laptop that won’t insist on
