Bug#447641: update-manager: work-around

2007-12-16 Thread Daniel van Eeden
Package: update-manager
Version: 0.68.debian-3
Followup-For: Bug #447641

Some old update-manager was using /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/UpdateManager
and this directory was not removed during an upgrade.

Just remove this directory and update-manager should work again.

The new files for this python component are located in
/usr/share/python-support/update-manager/UpdateManager

I think this work-around shoud be put in the README or the old dir
should be removed on upgrade (is that allowed by the debian policy?). A
warning during the upgrade would also be nice.

Bug#449590: gnome-games: spider (one suit) won't deal with too few cards left on the board

When playing Spider One Suit, if I have removed enough cards so that
fewer than 10 are left on the board, but there are still cards left to
deal from the deck, the game refuses to deal them, saying Please fill
in empty pile first. But it's impossible to fill the empty piles
with so few cards, so the game can't proceed.

Can you reproduce this issue with gnome-games 2.20, currently in

Bug#456525: add tunefinder support

2007-12-16 Thread Matthias Krüger
Package: rhythmbox
Version: 0.10.1-1+b1
Severity: wishlist

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
It would be nice if rhythmbox could download songs from
http://www.tunefinder.com/ (maybe like it is thought to do at
http://blue.jamendo.com/ which is unfortunately not working)

Thank you for your fine work!Matthias Krüger

Bug#456526: gnome-system-tools: network setting static ip address doesn't work

2007-12-16 Thread Daniele (Mastro)
Package: gnome-system-tools
Version: 2.14.0-3
Severity: important

Open Network manager and try to set a static ip address for your LAN
network device. it will result in a dhcp anyway

steps:
1) open network (System - Administration - Networks)
2) set a static DNS (say 192.168.1.2) and some DNS
3) clik ok
4) verify your network doesn't have that IP and doesn't use the DNS you
provided! It use dhcp ones

work around:
edit /etc/network/interfaces

# The primary network interface
allow-hotplug eth1
iface eth1 inet static
address 192.168.1.2
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1

auto eth1

as you see there's an auto eth1 that shouldn't be there!
simply remove or comment it

then open /etc/resolv.conf and manually set your DNS

issue the command ifdown eth1 ifup eth1

or use whatever ethX you have

the bug is important becouse people who don't know how to manually set
their network will be puzzled by this behavior and will not know what to
do! For this people the gnome-system-tools network manager is useless

Hi

gnome-dbg recommends libgoffice-1-2-dbg wich is not available in

libgoffice-0-5-dbg.

Cheers

Luk

Bug#456541: Unplugging causes laptop to suspend

2007-12-16 Thread Carlos Moffat
Package: gnome-power-manager
Version: 2.20.2-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hi,

I have a Thinkpad T42p. If I unplug the AC power, the laptop suspends.
I can't find the reason by looking at the scripts being called. The
attached file is the output of daemon.log over a suspend/resume cycle
caused by the unplug event.

I've 'solved' the problem by selecting 'Do Nothing' on the 'On Battery
Power' of the g-p-m preferences, so that now the computer suspends
automatically only when on AC.

Any ideas?
Best Regards,
Carlos

Bug#455769: Same here, T41p

2007-12-16 Thread Carlos Moffat
Package: gnome-power-manager

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hi,

I'm seeing the same problem here, on a T41p. Occasionally, the laptop goes to
sleep on the first go, but often I need to open and close the lid a second time.

Best Regards,
Carlos

Open Network manager and try to set a static ip address for your LAN
network device. it will result in a dhcp anyway

Can you reproduce this bug with gnome-system-tools 2.20, currently in
unstable?

i've tried to install gnome-system-tools 2.20 but it has a lot of
dependency to fix...

it need a new system-tools-backend that has some other unsatisfied
dependency

i would like to avoid upgrading all the system if possible
