Hi Aaron,
Thanks for bringing reporting this. The problem was indeed the missing
build dependency on libperl-dev. I've successfully build the fixed
package in a i386 chroot.
The fixed package has been uploaded to mentors and is waiting for
sponsorship (#723991).
