I'm not aware of any backport plans, but maybe Markus (CC'ed) can shed
some light on his plans for PostGIS.

In general none of the Debian GIS packages are backported, but we've
talked about a couple of times without anything concrete coming out of it.

If you'd like to help maintain a backport that's the best way to make
it happen.

Kind Regards,

Bas

We already maintain several versions in the pgapt repository, among them
wheezy. That repo includes support for multiple Postgres major versions.
Please consider using that.

If somebody wants to provide a backport, that should be relatively
straight forward, given that pgapt builds from the same sources as
what's in Debian. You'd have to check the geos and gdal dependencies,
though - I think pgapt comes with updates for those on wheezy.

I'm not aware of any backport plans, but maybe Markus (CC'ed) can shed
some light on his plans for PostGIS.

Bas, thanks for the heads-up.
