do you have any plane to backport scala 2.11.x to Jessie and Wheezy?
at work we'd like to start using that newer version. I could attempt
to prepare such bpo but I have no idea ho hard that would be, any
input here?

Backporting to Wheezy should be doable too, you'll need another new
package (jline2).
