I'd also like to help with packaging Eclipse for Debian. I'm not a
professional programmer, and have dealt mostly with C/C++ and Perl. I
have no experience in packaging and Java.
Bug 308652 [1] looks reasonably simple for me to work on. At the
moment, I have eclipse.menu and
