Kaffe compiler transition
Hi all, you get this mail because your package(s) build-depend on kaffe. Today a new kaffe release will be uploaded with several changes which might break your packages build. The noticable change is the change of the build compiler to ecj (eclipse compiler for java). I have opened a wiki page to track the transition under: http://wiki.debian.org/Java/KaffeTransition I tested every package (excluding pkg-java maintainers packages where I will take care of) against this new kaffe package for breakage and commented on it on this wiki page. There is also a section with the most common problems and how to fix them. The good news are that only 5 packages (excluding pkg-java maintainers packages) FTBFS and need a little care. In the next days I will file bugs against the packages which FTBFS together with a patch. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us under the debian-java mailinglist or on #debian-java. This makes your package fail to build from source. [1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/11/msg00022.html To fix this bug, you need to update your build-dependencies and substitute xlibs-dev for the list of individual X development libraries that your package needs to be built. You can find detailed information about how to do that in the DependsXlibsDev wiki page [2]. [2] http://wiki.debian.org/DependsXlibsDev As indicated by the Release Team [3], the full transition from XFree86 to Xorg is a release blocker for Etch, which means that Etch will not be released until this bug is fixed (or your package removed from testing). So, please, try to fix in a timely manner. [3] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/10/msg4.html The number of affected packages by the xlibs-dev transition is huge, so if you feel like helping with patches or uploads, feel free to follow the instructions contained in the wiki page above. A list of affected packages can be found here [4]. [4] http://people.debian.org/~adeodato/release-usertag/transition-xlibs-dev Finally, if there's a strong reason for which your package should not be NMUed, please note so in this bug report. Prospective NMUers will read your reasoning, and will decide if it's strong enough to delay their upload. Bug#348393: Eclipse quit on open Declaration
Package: eclipse-cdt Version: 3.0.1-2 If I select a string (function), right click on it, and open declaration(F3), or open definition(Ctrl-F3), eclipse just quit. (Im in C/C++ perspective) I launch eclipse with the following command: /usr/lib/eclipse/eclipse -vm /usr/lib/jvm/java-gcj/bin/java -vmargs -Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni -Dgnu.gcj.precompiled.db.path=/var/lib/gcj-4.0/classmap.db -Dgnu.gcj.runtime.VMClassLoader.library_control=never -Dosgi.locking=none Here is the error message (a simple window): JVM terminated.
