Bug#403675: eclipse: annoying dialog box builtin browser not supported
Package: eclipse Version: 3.2.1-2 Severity: minor Every time I start eclipse, it first pops up a dialog box saying this eclipse does not support the builtin browser .. and then will not continue startup until I confirm it. I don't know why I should care about a builtin browser, but normal operation doesn't seem to be affected, and it's kind of annoying to be forced to repeatedly confirm this lack over, every time I use it. [Particulary since eclipse does take a rather long time to startup, and the time consuming parts don't even start until this dialog is answered.] Thanks, -Miles -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.19 Locale: LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages eclipse depends on: ii eclipse-jdt 3.2.1-2Java Development Tools plug-ins fo ii eclipse-pde 3.2.1-2Plug-in Development Environment to ii eclipse-source3.2.1-2Eclipse source code plug-ins Versions of packages eclipse recommends: pn eclipse-gcj none (no description available) -- no debconf information ___ pkg-java-maintainers mailing list pkg-java-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-java-maintainers
Bug#403204: eclipse: still using wrong kdialog syntax
Hi, 1. I think this bug is rather important severity (but I don't think I can change that, so I'm not attempting it), because it basically affects _everybody_ who uses a KDE desktop with eclipse. 2. I'm really surprised that nobody bothers to actually test wether the commands in the eclipse script work. There's no standard dialog behaviour, so you can't rely on every foodialog taking the same arguments. 3. Using kdialog --warningcontinuecancel is more sensible than --warningyesno, because the latter would present yes/no buttons to the user without a question. The former version presents continue/cancel buttons, which fit much better.
