I'm having the same problem with the in-repo version.

I'm currently downloading the source files
2.2.2 works fine for me too on Debian sid.
Is it possible to update the repo? The only requirement mentioned on the
project webpage is JVM = 1.6

A ClassNotFoundException poped up in pdfjam but it seems to me to be
a problem of libjgoodies-looks-java not specifying the jar for
libjgoodies-common-java in its classpath.
