Bill, you surely have seen the prices asked for NOS 6C10 tubes now ! But this is only a triple triode with the same characteristics than the more common 12AX7 double triode. Unless the unit using this 6C10 have a special value if kept original, my own solution will be to modify it to use 1+½

I would add that one should pay attention to the ceramic capacitor dielectric used in the circuit.  Some are very temperature sensitive and are a source of noise and microphonics.
