Have you previously gotten a Saddlesack to work with an R10 rack? I
couldn't.
That rack seems more suited to traditional bags, like a Caradice, that are
improved by swinging them away from the seatpost and out from under the
saddle. Rivendell (sackville) bags are kind of hung from the

What a great ride! My wife and I loved riding lakefront trail in summers

Hi Jared. I could not find one here or anywhere for that matter. Ordered from Bluelug & had it in less than a week. And, even with shipping from Japan less $$ than domestic sources.Sent from my iPhoneOn Sep 1, 2023, at 9:45 PM, jaredwilson wrote:Hey group,Acquired another SaddleSack medium and
Hey group,
Acquired another SaddleSack medium and find myself needing a Nitto R10 to
support it.
Would love to trade for a Riv Shiny rear rack or Marks rack, or purchase if
need be.
Please respond off list at jared wilson327 at gmail
Thanks :)

If you can drive to your ride, then I'd suggest parking at the Yolo Bypass
Wildlife Area and riding the gravel roads through there. It's beautiful,
full of wildflowers and migrating birds, and completely flat. If you'd
prefer terrain, there are a lot of options in the Sierra foothills. One

Among "fixies", bikes with track ends and 120mm spacing, Rivendells are
unique as far as I know in having slanted track ends.
There are a bunch of bikes with forward facing slanted horizontals and
120mm spacing to take track wheels. Patrick Moore's bike(s) as well as
vintage road frames.
I'm *finally *building my BMC Monstercross, and I think I need a tall
stack, short reach threadless stem with a removable faceplate and 31.8
clamp similar to what Riv adjacent brands like Crust or Analog offer, but I
am open to other suggestions since I exist in the quill ecosystem. Thanks

The American River Bike Trail is exceptional. If by Northeast Sac you mean
one of the suburbs like Citrus Heights or Roseville, then I'd suggest
riding Auburn-Folsom Road. There's a lot of mixed terrain to ride on the
levees (which al have a gravel road on top and/or to the side) but they get
I'll be out in North East Sac this weekend and hope to get a 20-40 mile
ride or two in. Any musts? Mixed terrain preferred.
Thanks,

I saw all of the above plus a custom touring bike from Franklin Frames,
which the internet tells me is a now-defunct framebuilder from Ohio. 26"
wheels, Rene Herse 1x, SRAM AXS shifting. A really cool bike.

I rode for the first time on my Homer. I recall seeing a Saluki, Homers,
an Atlantis, a couple of Hillbornes, a Heron, a Rambouillet, and a Frank
Gomez (I think it was). I met a gentleman mid-week who recently retired
from Waterford. Fun week.

Thomas,
My Atlantis 2006 has Tektro Oryx cantilevers. I have broken 2 springs
already. I found in McMaster some torsion springs 9271k681 for right hand
and 9271k615 for left. They now cost about a dollar apiece. they come 6 in
a bag.
They were put in service 8 years ago. No problems. Your springs
