[RBW] Gravel King SK Nibs

2024-01-10 Thread BobW
My Sam Hillborne (not canti model) had previously installed Rene Herse Barlow Pass tires under Berthoud 50mm fenders. Clearances were great, and all worked very well. For winter riding, I recently installed Gravel King SK 38's, but now I'm getting a rubbing buzz sound from the tire "bibs"

[RBW] Fenders for Roadeo

2023-10-26 Thread BobW
Looking for thoughts on metal fenders for my Roadeo. I believe the max tire size for fenders on a Roadeo is 32 or 33's??? So presuming a 45mm fender width works? Ideally I would like to install metal fenders. I have Berthouds on my Sam, and they are solid, work well, and look great.

[RBW] Billie Bar Hooks

2023-06-13 Thread BobW
I recently converted my Sam from drops to Billie Bars. I do like the Billie Bars a lot, especially the multiple hand positions and upright posture they provide. I do find myself riding in the "hooks" more often than the swept back portion of the bar though. I wrapped the hooks with some cork

[RBW] New Handlebar Suggestions

2023-02-12 Thread BobW
I'm contemplating moving my Sam Hillborne from dropbar Noodles to some kind of upright/swept back handlebar, and to be honest, I am a bit overwhelmed by the various options. By way of background, all I have ever know are dropbar handlebars; but at 60, I'm thinking the sweptback/upright might

[RBW] What Berthoud Saddle is this??

2022-12-02 Thread BobW
I came across a used Gilles Berthoud saddle in my travels. It has titanium rails, so I assumed it is the "Aravis" model (same as Aspin but different rails. However it seemed narrow to me so I measured it and it comes out to 150mm wide; not the 157mm the the Aspin/Aravis are spec'd at.

[RBW] IRD Brake Lever Set Cafam-S vs. Paul Canti levers

I'm looking at the *IRD Brake Lever Set Cafam-S * for a conversion from drops to swept back bars. I originally was considering the Paul Canti levers, which get great reviews. Does anyone have any

[RBW] Paul Canti-lever alternatives

2022-11-01 Thread BobW
I'm planning to reconfigure my Sam Hillborne from drop bars to upright/flat/sweptback bars; so am looking for short pull brake lever options. I love the Paul Canti Levers, but they are a bit pricey. Looking for "affordable" suggestions for silver levers of similar quality to the Pauls.
