Just to remind everyone we have the 25th SERiv ride set for May 3/4/5 in
Greenville SC. There is a separate Google Group called SE Ride with all the
details. Check it out. If you think you might be interested join the group. We
plan to start regular updates and would love to see Fellow riv’rs
I have a question. I recently acquired a lovely Bombadil with a SON dynamo
front hub and Supernova E3 front and rear light. The bike is circa 2008 and so
I assume is the light. I really like having a dynamo light. I have a *lot* of
battery powered lights as I cycle year round night or day. In
Compass makes a 42. Compass tires are a bit wider than they are tall. Other
tire makers apparently make relatively taller tires. Bottom line is you can
only go by the number so far. Somewhere Jan Heine describes how to measure. A
quick google searc didn’t find it bit I know it’s out there.
The main events will be on Saturday but we thought we’d offer a pre- and post
on Friday and Sunday for those who want to make a weekend of it. The ride on
Saturday heads north of Greenville on the popular Swamp Rabbit Trail about 10
miles to the village of Travelers Rest. From TR we access
Todd Ripley and I are really excited to propose a full weekend of rides and
opportunistic for socialization.
Here are our thoughts
Fri May 3rd afternoon ramble up the Swamp Rabbit Trail to Travelers Rest for a
BBQ
Sat May 4th 930 am meet at Swamp Rabbit Cafe for breakfast. Main ride 30-40
